I am a 4th-year PhD student in the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.


Research interests

I am interested in developing intelligent manufacturing systems using physics-based and data-driven knowledge of process and motion dynamics. Some of my recent works include:

Recent news

05/04/2022: I have been selected to present at 2022 3M Raising Influence and Science and Engineering (RISE) Symposium in June.

04/18/2022: My thesis has been selected for Doctoral Symposium in 2022 International Manufacturing Science and Engineering Conference (MSEC) in June at West Lafayette, IN.

04/17/2022: I got accepted to present my work on "Digital Twin-Driven Feedrate Optimization in Intelligent Manufacturing" at International Conference on Precision Engineering and Sustainable Manufacturing (PRESM) in July at Jeju-do, South Korea.

04/07/2022: I won 3rd place in delivering pitch about my PhD work at Mechanical Engineering Graduate Council Student Seminar in UMich.

04/06/2022: My new project on selective laser sintering has been submitted to 2022 American Society of Precision Engineering Annual Meeting.

09/26/2021: I passed my Dissertation Proposal Exam (DPE), so now the only thing left for me is to defend..!

08/30/2021: I'll be working in Ulendo as a Control Engineering Intern during Fall 2021 semester.

04/29/2021: My work on "Accurate and Computationally-Efficient Approach for Simultaneous Feedrate Optimization and Servo Error Pre-Compensation of Long Toolpaths – with Application to a 3D Printer" has been accepted to International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies.

04/25/2021: I gave a talk with my advisor on "Remote Labs for Additive Manufacturing Course" at Enriching Scholarship Conference in UMich.

10/19/2021: I have been accepted to present my work on "Combined servo error pre-compensation and feedrate optimization using sequential linear programming" at 2021 American Society of Precision Engineering (virtual).

09/30/2020: My team won 4th place in 2020 Student Challenge held at American Society of Precision Engineering.

06/15/2020: My work "Simultaneous Servo Error Pre-Compensation and Feedrate Optimization with Tolerance Constraints using Linear Programming" has been accepted to International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies.

05/07/2020: I presented my work on "Combined Feedforward Tracking Control and Feedrate Optimization with Application to a XY Motion Stage" at 2020 American Society of Precision Engineering (virtual) and received ASML Student Scholarship.

ISD 599: Foundations in Smart Additive Manufacturing (WN 2021, WN 2022)

• Taught various topics in additive manufacturing (AM) including AM workflow, lifecycle analysis, design and verification, materials fundamentals, and monitoring/control for AM

• Held in-person and remote lab sessions for hands-on 3D printing (fused filament fabrication, stereolithography, and selective laser sintering) and microscopy
